  • I went for a photo walk in the park with a couple friends at night. It started to snow when I spotted a black wolf in the distance. I took a few pictures with a telephoto lens as it ran toward me. It caught my arm and was poised to bite my neck when I yelled to one of my friends for help. We shooed it off and it ran back and forth waiting for an opening to make another attack.

That’s when my DSLR came in handy as both a camera and a weapon, fending it off and taking pictures at the same time. I shot a high speed series that jelled into some amazing transparency action sequence with brilliant colors. At that point, the wolf started jumping up and down like it was doing the Snoopy dance. Then, I woke up. I wish I still had those shots.

  • Illustration: final project.

The purpose of this project was to depict an environment in the vein of a National Geographic photo spread with the main criterion being the inclusion of at least 30 indigenous species. The environment I chose is the Indo-Pacific coral reef zone. I’d say the most difficult aspect of this particular assignment was nailing the composition. Otherwise, rendering the various organisms was a challenge only because I couldn’t get accurate reference for some stuff, namely the red coral crab. Anyway, the next step involves painting and I’m just hoping I finish in time…

  • 10-minute sketch of a girl that I’ve only seen through the eyes of another.

God grants me the gift of time. Life affords me a new alibi.

The clock strikes five and I’m destined for academia. Time to wax poetic.
